Eleven Months ago, I sat down in a cafe one evening feeling overwhelmed. Within a couple of hours lifeinmydays.com was live. Two years prior to that, a friend of mine was doing a 100 Days of bliss project and asked me to do the same. Three years earlier, I found out that I was not alone. Eight year earlier, I was locked in my room and wondered if anyone else had gone through what I had. I have always wondered. I tried asking questions, I tried google, but I never had the words to ask or search for the right things. I searched thousands of times, and with every failed result I realized more and more that there was nothing wrong with the world, and there was only something wrong with me.
I started speaking about Mental Health and Abuse so that I'd reach someone that felt the same way, but the world is big and I needed a platform that could reach everyone. As diverse as my experiences are, I am only one person and there are billions of others. So I started a community. I started lifeinmydays.com
Since then we have shared stories together; we have laughed, we have cried, and we have grown from 1 Person to 50,000 Followers. Along the way came other storytellers willing to share their experiences, and amazing individuals that wanted to do some behind the scenes work to help lifeinmydays.com reach as many as we could. I could not have done any of this without you all, and I am so grateful that you have decided to join me on this journey. Thank you!
Looking forward from all of that, we still have yet to become sustainable, to be a home to all our stories,
and to fulfill the vision I had all those years ago. To accomplish these things, Life in My Days must grow past me, and become its own entity. Over the past few months I have worked tirelessly to find the perfect individuals to help create a non-profit that can achieve all of these things, and many more. I am excited to announce that we will be turning lifeinmydays.com into a non-profit, and expanding our vision to meet your needs. The messages will remain the same. We will always be a place to celebrate experiences, but now we'll be able to reach you in more ways than through just this online social-change platform. It will allow us to eventually pay our writers, to conduct more webinars and workshops, and expand the topics we discuss. Life in My Days has always been a community, becoming a non-profit will solidify that, and allow us to grow.
To kick things off we will be launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise the initial funds needed to become a non-profit and to begin operating as one. Here's how you can help us write the next chapter of Life in My Days, Inc:
1. Donate today and help us fund the creation of a life-changing space for healing and growth.
2. Share this campaign, and start a dialogue of why it's important with your family and friends.
4. Share your experiences on lifeinmydays.com by submitting your story.
5. Bring us to speak about our collective experiences with your groups and community.
6. Destigmatize our communities and create safe spaces.
Anything and everything helps. On behalf of the entire Life in My Days team we thank you for your support, and look forward to starting this new chapter with you all!
